A Metal manufacturing company was faced with low productivity, impacting operating profits at the plant level.
We conducted an Annual Employee Engagement Survey. While the Baby Boomers and Gen X were highly engaged, the engagement of Millennials and Gen Z was low, both in White Collared and Blue Collared employees.
While the company was hugely focused on employees, the policies and culture addressed the issues of Baby Boomers and Gen X. The expectations and issues of Millennials and Gen Z were not understood.
Based on the survey results, action plans were drawn for managers, leaders and the organisation. Implementation of action plans was reviewed by the Chairman every month.
The engagement significantly improved, resulting in better operating profits compared to the industry benchmark.
